Most studios make you book a call first. That is because the number changes depending on who is asking. Ours does not. Here is what it costs and what you get.

You pay nothing to start. We build it, put it live, and keep it running. Twelve month minimum, then one month's notice.

What "unlimited small changes" means, without the small print.

Text, photos, prices and opening hours. As often as you like. You message us and it is done. There is no cap and we are not going to be difficult about it.

A new page, a new feature or a different design is not a small change. We quote those separately, with the number agreed first. We say it here because otherwise you only find out when it gets awkward.

Why a monthly is not the expensive option

A website is never just the build. Hosting, maintenance, updates and somebody to do them all get added on, whether or not anyone writes them down.

The difference is not really the total. It is that you pay nothing to find out, and you never have to open the thing again.

Studio and Commerce

No subscription. You pay once, you get the code, the domain and the content, and you can take it to any other builder. Maintenance is optional.

About Shopify. The argument is not that you save on monthly fees, because you mostly do not. The point is that on Shopify you are decorating someone else's building. Your competitor has the same themes, the same apps and the same checkout. Your own storefront does what your product needs, not what a theme allows.

The questions everyone asks

Straight answers

Who owns the website?

The domain and the content are always yours, including during the subscription. On Studio and Commerce you get the code too. On Local the code stays with us while you subscribe, and you can buy it out at any point for $2,000 or $3,500. After 24 months, half that.

What if I want to stop?

After the first twelve months you give one month's notice. Your domain, your words and your photos go with you. We do not hold anything hostage and we do not make it complicated.

Can I edit it myself?

Yes, and you do not have to. That is what the subscription is for. You send a message with what needs changing and we do it, within 3 working days on Basic and 24 hours on Complete.

Why is this more than Squarespace?

Because on Squarespace you are the builder. You pick the template, you write it in, you work out why it looks wrong on a phone, and you make every change yourself. That is fine if you enjoy it. If you do not, the difference in price is about an hour of your time a month.

How fast does it go live?

Usually within two weeks of getting your photos and text. The wait is nearly always in the sending, not the building. We send a short list so you know exactly what we need.

Is there a catch?

Two things we would rather say now. The subscription has a twelve month minimum, so you are committed for a year. And unlimited changes means text, photos, prices and hours, not new pages or a new design. That is all of it.
